The SPH-16 is a simple, yet powerful SFP patch hub, supporting hot-swappable SFP devices working at 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps, as well as Ethernet copper ports working at 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps. Connecting to any RJ-45 compatible switch, it can also be used as an Ethernet copper-to-fiber converter with various fiber optic media, extending the reach of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet networks.
The SFP-16 patch hub provides users a high degree of flexibility by enabling them to use any third-party SFP device instead of expensive dedicated SFPs. The unit is available in a compact 19-inch 1U enclosure.
The SPH-16 can be managed via an ASCII terminal, a PC running a Web browser, a Telnet host, or an SNMP-based network management station. Supported security features include SNMPv3, secure socket layer (SSL) for Web based management, secure shell communications (SSH) and RADIUS authentication. It provides SNMP management for I2C parameters of standard SFP devices and enables software downloads to the SFPs. In addition to enabling flow control via a Back Pressure mechanism, the SFP patch hub supports major and minor alarm reports, and features LED status indicators to facilitate system diagnostics.
