Voice Compression

Voice compression is the encoding of digital speech to take up less storage space and transmission bandwidth.

RAD’s Voice Compression Solutions

RAD offers voice compression product solutions and equipment that enable voice and data convergence over one network link. Voice trunking with RAD’s state-of-the-art algorithms provides up to a 16:1 voice compression ratio, which increases bandwidth efficiency while maintaining toll quality voice. Voice compression products from RAD support TDM and packet-based Ethernet, IP and MPLS WAN access networks.

Besides support for voice activity detection (VAD), silence suppression and comfort noise generation (CNG), RAD’s voice compression product solutions achieve extra efficiencies as a result of the TDMoIP framing and aggregation technique that delivers superior bandwidth efficiency (down to 4 kbps per channel) and ensures call quality that rivals that of PSTN toll
