RAD Authority on Timing Synchronization Named to IEEE 1588 Conformity Alliance Committee of Experts
Alon Geva, Advanced Technologies Manager for Research and Development at RAD Data Communications, has been selected to join the IEEE 1588 Conformity Alliance Committee of Experts as standards representative to ITU-T SG15/Q13, which is defining the ITU’s recommendations for timing synchronization in packet networks.
According to a press release issued by the 1588 Conformity Alliance, the Committee is “comprised of many notable leaders in the timing and network synchronization field,” whose task will be to “review and approve of the Certification Test Suite for telecom, followed by the certification program launch in early 2011.”
“The formation of this panel of experts to develop comprehensive tests for IEEE 1588-2008 Conformity Assessment certification represents a confluence of some of the best and brightest minds from the synchronization industry,” noted Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder of Infonetics Research, in the Alliance’s statement. “Without a doubt, this panel will help ensure the success of the certification program.”
A twelve-year veteran at RAD Data Communications, Alon Geva is a contributor to many standards in the field of timing synchronization. He holds a bachelor with honors and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.
