RAD’s LA-130 DSL cell-site gateway enables mobile operators and transport providers to substantially reduce backhaul costs by leveraging wholesale SHDSL deployments and widely available ATM and IP DSLAMs to carry GSM and UMTS traffic over ATM, PSN or hybrid transport networks. In addition to allowing mobile backhaul over SHDSL or G.SHDSL.bis links, the LA-130 also incorporates pseudowire encapsulation support, as well as high precision clock recovery and distribution capabilities. These ensure accurate delivery of symmetric services including real-time voice and high-priority applications, over asynchronous packet transport networks.
Using IMA or physical (M-pair) bonding schemes, the LA-130 combines two, three or four SHDSL or G.SHDSL.bis pairs into a single data stream, with a combined data rate of up to 9.2 Mbps or 20 Mbps, respectively.
